Maria Lewis, BPA Outreach State Coordinator. My professional background has been the Financial Empowerment Center and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Manager, as well as the Constituent Services Director of Syracuse for six years. Maria won awards including: Awarded “Salt City Mover and Shaker Award” award by Catholic Charities, Awarded “Community Volunteer of the Year” award by National Network,Awarded “Exceptional Woman Award” award by New York State Assembly Pamela J. Hunter, Award winner of grassroot program of “I Know I Can” radio and television shows, Chair and coordinator of Jubilee Homes Southwest Showcase Sundays, Community Event show for 6 years, Chair of the Syracuse Latin Festival for 4 years and awarded for Emcee the Syracuse Juneteenth Festival for 3 years. Maria has been part of multiple Committees including a member of the Upstate Minority Economic Alliance (UMEA),Gun Violence Task Force/Livable Community Coalition for Onondaga County, CNY Region Healthcare Equity Task Force, City, SCSD, County and NYS & Refugee Alliance of Greater Syracuse, Financial Empowerment Center Sustainability and Vision Committee, Refugee Service Quarterly Community Consultation Committee, New Emergency Rental Assistance Committee,Syracuse Help Coalition, CIT Advisory Committee, CNY Housing and Homeless Coalition and the City of Syracuse Quality of Life Commission
