Jal Desai is a researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). He provides technical assistance to local communities and federal clients through renewable energy feasibility studies. He has been at NREL for over four years now and has been providing assistance to the U.S. DOE WAP for over three years through the Guidelines for Home Energy Professionals (GHEP) project. He assisted in the development of the Installer Badges Toolkit and maintains the Standard Work Specifications (SWS). Jal Desai holds MS in Energy Science Technology and Policy from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Nirma University of Technology in 2015. He is also involved in building energy modeling, energy policy, grid optimization, and techno-economic analysis studies.
