Chad Bowman, Weatherization Assistance Sr. Program Manager, is a proud alumnus of Southern University of Baton Rouge, in his native state of Louisiana. Mr. Bowman received his B.S. degree in Urban Forestry Management and then attended Alabama A & M University in Huntsville, AL, where he received his M.S. degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Mr. Bowman has worked for over 20 years in various urban planning and program/project management positions in areas including but not limited to comprehensive planning, economic development, community development, and energy efficiency spanning 3 states, Alabama, Texas, and Tennessee. Mr. Bowman is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the National Development Council's Certified Economic Development Finance Professionals, and Delta Regional Authority's Leadership Institute. In its first year, the Memphis WAP program was the first program in Tenessee to weatherize a large, senior living multi-family property of 64 units. Recently, the Memphis WAP program partnered with the local housing authority to weatherize 86 units. Next for the Mempihs WAP team is to venture into aggressively training more contractors at the new training house constructed through a public-private partnership with TVA, Moore Tech Vocational School, and the Shelby County Office of Sustainability.
