Noel is a Senior Research Engineer in the Buildings and Thermal Systems center at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. He leads building energy modeling development for DOE's Home Energy Scoring Tool, and chairs the Home Performance XML (HPXML) data transfer standard working group, supporting it's continued development and adoption in the industry. He also develops the supercomputing and cloud computing capabilities for NREL's ResStock large-scale building stock simulation software. Noel has a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University with an emphasis in fluid and thermal systems and computational methods and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado.
