One of the major hurdles associated with integrating solar PV into any Weatherization Assistance Program is understanding how to effectively work with PV contractors installing a system. What do you need to know about the work they do? And what do they need to know about Weatherization to work within our program? We’ll pull back the curtain on solar PV installation and learn just enough of the technical process to make those important connections with the WAP. We’ll start with the WAP audit or pre-audit process, move through a PV install, and then finish by highlighting some of the important quality control points in a PV system your QCI will want to check before signing off. This session is aimed at program implementers and is designed to make some of the more technical aspects of solar PV feel a little bit simpler.
Learning Objectives:
By attending this session, attendees will:
Quickly and efficiently assess a home’s suitability for solar PV integration during a WAP audit or pre-audit.
Understand the function of different solar PV components that make up a PV system.
Identify and assess quality control points on a typical PV system.
