The Department of Energy (DOE) will provide an update on the Justice40 Initiative as it relates to the Weatherization Assistance Program and discuss relevant analytical tools. The session will primarily focus on the Low-Income Energy Affordability Data (LEAD) Tool, an equity-focused web-based tool that allows users to analyze household energy burden. Attendees will learn about the tool's capabilities, limitations, and explore use cases. Attendees will also have the opportunity to provide feedback on how DOE can better tailor the LEAD Tool to meet the needs of the weatherization network.

By attending this session, attendees will:
  • Be able to explain how the Justice40 Initiative pertains to the Weatherization Assistance Program.
  • Understand how the Low-income Energy Affordability Data (LEAD) Tool can be used to analyze household energy burden.
  • Understand the analytical capabilities and limitations of the LEAD Tool and provide feedback on how the tool could better support the needs of the weatherization network.
