Program Director Massachusetts Clean Energy Center Boston, Massachusetts
Join in the discussion of how Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (“MassCEC”) and Abode Energy Management (Abode) piloted and refined a protocol for a scalable home decarbonization assessment that provides a customized plan for homeowners to eliminate the use of fossil fuels and reduce their greenhouse gas footprint. To create a scalable approach, the pilot considered what tradeoffs need to be made to balance cost, time in the home, testing, and modeling. The pilot also tested approaches to providing targeted support at the time customers are ready to act, including a methodology to help homeowners compare heat pump options. The session will walk through an example customized home decarbonization plan; audience members will vote on which heat pump solution they would have selected for that home and provide feedback on the piloted approach to promoting decarbonization.
Learning Objectives:
By attending this session, attendees will:
Understand the technical goals and challenges in a home decarbonization assessment
Think through the tradeoffs that need to be made from a policy maker’s or efficiency program’s perspective to scale a decarbonization assessment model
Identify the cost-effective and impactful strategies for providing homeowners with timely decarbonization guidance
