Maintaining IAQ During Wildfire & Poor Air Quality Events

As the risk of wildfire smoke increases for many areas across the US, builders and remodelers have developed strategies to filter fine smoke particulates and odors from the whole-house air intake and reduce smoke infiltration into homes.  This session will discuss some of the strategies builders are using in these applications, as well as data showing the efficacy of a HEPA filtration plus house pressurization strategy during a wildfire smoke event.

  • Understand the implementation of air sealing strategies to reduce wildfire smoke infiltration
  • Understand the implementation of filtering strategies for outside air supply during wildfire smoke events
  • Understand the effect of whole-house pressurization strategies to maintain IAQ during wildfire smoke events
