Pumping up Training for Cold-Climate Air Source Heat Pumps

Training, designations, technical concepts, and promises oh my! There are numerous HVAC designations and certifications around HVAC sizing, design, and installation. A subset of these are focused on heat pumps, with an even smaller set focused on cold-climate or extended capacity heat pumps. In this session, Dan will showcase what happens when we work with utilities to bring awareness, excitement, and confidence in variable capacity air source heat pumps to contractors and consumers through training and market interventions to avoid collisions and advance our common goals. We will then discuss partnering with industry to advance and evolve the training content for cold climate heat pumps to support manufacturer trainings and industry designations and certifications. During this session, we will set the table and then engage the audience to determine what else should we all be doing and where can we go next to ensure the current and future generations of HVAC installers get cold climate heat pumps just right!
