In 2020 The U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics identified 77% of the country’s workforce identified as Caucasian, 18% identified as LatinX, 13% identified as African American. In the HVAC industry, the diversity of the American workforce is not reflected as such with those percentages being 74% Caucasian, 11% LatinX, 5% African American. In this session, we will discuss ways that our industry can attract, and more importantly retain an ethnically diverse workforce. We will go through real-life examples of employees that joined the industry and stayed, along with examples of those who chose to move on. This is intended to be an open discussion as both people new to the industry and veterans can offer a unique perspective.
