The Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) was founded in 1995 as an independent, non-profit organization to help homeowners reduce the cost of their utility bills by making their homes more energy and water efficient. In addition to developing the HERS® Index, CO2e Carbon Index®, and the HERSH2O® water efficiency Index, RESNET is also responsible for the national training and certification standards for HERS Raters. RESNET is an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited standard development organization. Over 3.6 million homes’ energy performance has been rated through RESNET’s standards.
